Mario Kart online is good from what I've played, minus the voicechat. Not having FFA battle mode and 2-player (or more) grand prix isn't good, though, but that's not an online problem...
But the last time I tried Brawl it took far too long for each match to start. You end up waiting more than playing. Maybe it's gotten better?
Friend codes and voice chat kind kill the overall experience, though...it's annoying just to add friends and you can't talk to them. |
Erm you can play a two player (or up to 12 online) Grand Prix with friends.
locally (not online) there are many more options, you can play a 1-4 player GP on 2-32 tracks with or without computer players, norm/hard/easy or no items at all.
The options are endless.
battle wise the odd oversight doesn't make much difference online bescause it still scores you according to how many hits/coins you made, not your team.... it is annoying when playing friends only and there are only 3 of you (because that means 2 vs. 1).

I don't have brawl so no comment. |
I didn't mean custom Grand Prix. I mean for unlocking stuff by doing Cups.

? You mean you want exactly the same thing as 1p GP (which has much less options than custom) except for 2p.
What's the point..... unless you mean using it to unlock stuff instead of doing 1 player.
That mode would basically be used once because after unlocking everything you would switch to the better custom version.
And an online version of it wouldn't work because some friends would have unlocked stuff before you.
If I had wanted to unlock stuff with a friend I could have just taken turns on 1p GP for about 2 hours to unlock most stuff. As it is I don't see the problem with unkocking things first then inviting friends over (or online) to custom GPs
