In some aspects yes, it does compete with it. Still, people compare Wii U to gen 7 consoles because of gpu and cpu power so if the Scorpio outmatches the Pro, which it will, it'll be considered a gen 9 console while Pro is still gen 8. It's silly, it only partially makes sense.
