If he is talking about "power" ... what does Sony have to compete with the Scorpio on power? Nothing. So by all accounts Scorpio IS in a league of its own (unless ofc you bring pc into it) but he was clearly talking consoles.

When the two statements in the OT are made together, they become contradictory. Why does the Scorpio's expected power advantage put it in "another league" and mean the Pro "can't compete", and yet the same doesn't apply to the X1S and Pro, despite the Pro's advantage there being larger than even the most generous Scorpio prediction. It also ignore the reality that previous significant hardware gaps, like the PS4 vs X1, PS2 vs Xbox/GC, etc, didn't stop the lower-spec hardware being competitive. The X1 has certainly competed in the PS4's "league", and the PS2 sold so well league aren't even a discussion. So why the distinction?

That just leaves stuff like the 4k blu-ray player, and that argument kind of falls apart too. It's certainly a great feature for those looking for an affordable 4k blu-ray player, but if that alone is so significant that it can mitigate the Pro's power advantage, then doesn't that put the X1S in pretty much the same league as the Scorpio too? :p Relatively speaking that's a pretty small jump after all.
