meh.
some people claimed that the ps4 slim and pro where delayed to 2017 because the announcement was just much to late to happen for a 2016 release. i don't think that's the case anymore. sony explicitly said and i think nintendo is subscribing to the same thought: people don't want a large amount of time between when something is announced and when it is available for purchase. this is true for games. i think it is true for hardware now too.
the announcement can create hype but there needs to be constant feeding from the company (sony/nintendo) to consumers to keep it in the headlines.
so personally,.. i'm going to believe march 2017 is still probable until around january 31st. if we still haven't heard a word by then i'll be more apt to believe a delay is happening. i think 3-6 months is the appropriate amount of time for NX to be announced. i personally think the october announcement rumor is both plausible and probable.
