$2,500 is what you'll be paying for the 55" That's what I just got. Haven't got to try out any 4k content and what not yet. Only hooked up to PS3/Wii U and antenna tv. Antenna tv only comes in at 1080i, and ps3 plays me blu rays. Gonna see what Black Friday has for 4k player But just on what I'm watching, it already is much better than my other 65" 4k tv that is not OLED. But there has been one major wow moment for me, so far. Just watching movies, the first thing was the black bars on top and bottom. They are completely OFF. When they say the blacks are black, meaning the lights actually turn off, they are not kidding. I always hated, still do, that movies are not the same size as tv screen's. You know you have that bar on top and bottom. But with OLED, the bar is completely black, you don't notice it at all. It's like your tv got shorter. On all other tv's the black is just a super super super super dark black, you can still tell there is tv screen there. This it's like the same color as teh black trim of the tv. Then when scenes go pitch black was a real wow moment. It was like I turned my tv completely off. It was completely black. Not the as I said black, but you can still tell tv is on. It was completely black. With non OLED, the directv could be off and thus the screen black, and no lights on the house, yet you could still walk around and somewhat see cause teh black wasn't really black. It gave off a faint light. Not in this case. THe TV might as well be off, it's so black. Or here, go to 5:02 or so and look at the non-halo effect of OLED. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ogjW7NLD8w Just small tings that I never cared about before, that just impress me so much seeing. But even in just the first few seconds of the video, you can tell on wahtever monitor your watching how much better the colors look on the LG tv on the right. It makes that cloud scene just look so majestic. Watching the rest of this video, they bring up some Judder issue. I've never experienced it yet, but as I said i only watch movies and tv shows. Games I've played on it so far has only been Captain Toad's Treasure Tracker. Hardly a pressing game for testing anything.
Yea I figured if you have 4k ready devices, TV, AV and what not it would be just plug and play. Just find it funny reading those directions. Made me go "wait what?" like four times. But as someone said, it won't be limitless audio, it will be compressed, downgraded, wahtever you want to say. But seeing as how the Pro can only do streaming 4k content anyway, it not like your getting perfect video either, so whatever. I hear the One S doesn't have the greatest Audio, or limitless audio either. |
Just wait until 21:9 (or 7:3 if you want) becomes the new aspect ratio standard (in my dreams at least).
