Assuming the dedicated PC gamer would want to game on a console? It doesn't make sense.

People who game on consoles usually already game on consoles.

Why wouldn't a PC gamer want to try out some of the good console exclusives? All that is keeping them is the power difference. The PS4 pro is closer to PC performance than the PS4 was at release. PS4 Pro is the best thing that happened to PC gamers ever. A mid gen upgrade is all that they ever needed.

Why do you think people like me or Totalbiscuit who are basically PC only players are so damn excited about this console?

I would say the PS4 Pro and PS4 was positioned in terms of power/price relative to the PC fairly equally, well GPU wise anyway.
If you still want the PC experience (I.E. Multi-monitor, 5k resolutions etc') then PC is of course still the only place you can get that.
When the PS4 launched you had the Radeon 7870, 7950, 7970 and the Radeon 290 and 290X on the market.

When the PS4 pro launched you had the 390/390X/Fury/Fury X that was pushing past it.
That ignores all the Multi-GPU cards and configurations though which muddy's things up, we can't really count Vega either as that wasn't on the market before the consoles dropped.

But the Sony exec does have a point, Mid and end cycle of a console generation... They recognized how the PC platform grows during various points in the consoles life-cycle (I.E. During the mid/end of the generation.) and they are trying to mitigate that to a degree.
Competition *is* a good thing, it's good that console manufacturers are recognizing the PC more and leveraging that platform with more multiplatform games or increasing the visual bar or adding incentives. (Like remote play)

What do you think?  Sony may be right about this migration?  I'm sure they have lots of data, from publishers and so on about sales trends on PC and ofcourse on PS4.

It kind of makes sense that PC Enthusiasts wouldn't care about consoles while Performance & Mainstream level users may find those platforms more fungible.

I'm going to have to agree to a degree.

I tend to be an early adopted for most platforms though, new consoles are exciting and tend to get most of my gaming time, but after awhile I tend to gravitate back towards my PC as the initial excitement fades.
