Endless runner-->3D platformer might be a bit more difficult, but not such a huge leap that a kid who plays mobile games won't be able to figure it out.

You would think that people on a website dedicated to sales of video games already know that this works, so this shouldn't even be questioned in the first place.

It's not a question of does mobile games raise awareness or sales, it's if the analogy is correct. What you're talking about literally has no relevance.
