I thought art style was about the design of chatracters and environments. I do think both KZ2 and KZ3 have a unique feel to them and both are very good games in their own way. But I can agree that KZ3 doesn't really feel like a sequel to KZ2, that one had a hellish feel to it.

Artstyle is everything involved with the art. The way the colors look, the skin looks, the reflections, the textures, etc, etc... KZ3 recylced a lot from its predecessor, I'll give you that, but with the difference in texture filter/mapping, adjusted deferred rendering, and a complete overhaul of the colors used on many of the assets, it made for a very different looking game.

KZ2 was very drab and war-like (to me, much better at giving it a gritty feel). KZ3 lacked that. Thus, making for a very different look.

I agree with that. To me KZ3's more vibrant look is better.
