They had the same art style, KZ3 just uses more colours so it feels less representative of war. It looks far better to me not even talking about the more variety of colours. The environments are a lot more vibrant like the forest level, the character models are improved, lighting is a lot better and there is a greater sense of scale in some of the fights like the one with MAWLR which was incredible in its scope. Also the last level in space was very impressive.
