Most of this "generationless" BS is unfounded when Sony isn't attempting userbase fragmentation with exclusive software much like the DSi or new 3DS but those actually had games their predecessors couldn't play ... 

Yeah we'll see how gung ho a lot of those people are in a year or so when its clear lots of games are being made really for the higher spec and the "lower spec" version runs with all types of shitty compromises. 

New 3DS has one whopping game that doesn't play on the older models, lol, so I'm not sure what point you're even making there. 3DS and DS are hardly "fragmented" libraries. 

1. Those people will have been enjoying 4K HDR gaming for roughly a year by then, not to mention games that you just simply can't get anywhere else.

2. New 3DS has more than one game exclusive to it.
