The same argument can be used against the X1S. For a premium gaming console it won't play VR games and it's still weaker than a launch day Ps4.
The slim is essentially a gaming console with so called "premium" media features." I say so called as the 4K player is supposed to be a low end cheap 4K player.
The Pro on the other hand is a premium gaming console with some media features.
