After long deliberation, I asked myself: "When was the last time you watched a physical media disc? Rental or otherwise?"

And you know what? I can't remember. It's been ages since I opened up a jewel case for a movie. So what this is coming down to for me is this:

"Will this support 4K Vudu?"

I see what you're saying.

My physical media consumption has plummeted. But for key films and TV shows that are a visual spectacle and of particular interest to me I still buy them.

I have relatively fast internet for an Australian, but I wont be able to get higher speeds until at least 2019. Even then (if I can afford them), streaming providers wont stop compressing their data streams, as too few people will be able to receive them.

For years to come, getting top quality out of your high-end equipment is going to necessitate physical media.

As such, this new PS4 does not seem very 'Pro' to me...

For me, I don't feel I will have any problem (200mbps), but I can see how it would be an issue for others.

Maybe Vudu will reintroduce pre-downloading movies for viewing? That'd solve the problem.
