Well if they ever were to go 3rd party you'd expect them to release on PC as well, so you'd still have the option to play MK, Smash and Splatoon online without paying additional fees.

Yes, PC and Smartphones are the perfect platforms for them, and maybe could be the only correct answer to be more consumer friendly than the current situation
