I think a sequel can be as or more successful if they fix things. Remember, this movie was drowned by the critics. If the movie didn't have a few of its well documented issues and was more well received by critics (which you assume the sequel will learn from), then maybe even more people will go see it. Only time will tell. I don't think we'll see its sequel for a number of years though. Regardless, $700 million will be a stout run and can prove hard to top.

I am not holding any expectations of quality when they see that such films made with poor effort are making a lot of money regardless.
