By the way, majority of them were Pokemon and Mario, and no fan developers haven't been doing better job of making Pokemon or Mario (They literally made a Mario Maker tool) than Nintendo. Sorry but besides arguably two games, none of those games are the quality of what valve has authroized. These are not high quality mods, these are generally nes style or gba style games, that would not be mass marketed and will be seen as lame attempt if Nintendo sold them and most likely devalue the brand sales of things like Sun and Moon or Mario Maker, and besides maybe two (Mother 4, and Metroid Fan Game), would more likely lose money for the company for just releasing them.
Sorry but Nintendo War with Lets Players is not the same as Nintendo actually protecting Trademarks of its games asset, because if you do not protect that right, you can sadly lose it. You do know that the site specifically does get profit off people using that site right, and they have method of sharing revenue with the fan developers. So some are actually making money off Nintendo's asset and work.
Sorry but you thinking 562 games literally called Pokemon, Zelda, Metroid and Mario is not the same Black Mesa, is just huge leap to think otherwise.
Yes, I do agree that Nintendo should work with the Metroid guy (It is the only game I can agree with and the argument that Nintendo is not doing a good job with this IP is truthful), not the Pokemon person, sorry but GBA style Pokemon is nothing special in terms of raising the value of your brand now a days.

Well. You couldn't be any more obvious in the way you are trying to justify Nintendo's attacks on the fan community. The quality of the fan creations isn't the point and if you can't see past that, then this discussion has ended.
You don't throw a child's drawing in the bin because they couldn't draw a human properly do you?
Many other companies not only protect their trademarks, but they allow their fan community to prosper with fan created games, mods, art, youtube video's etc'. And even support their efforts by showcasing it on their Forums/Social media accounts or even include it in successive game releases as a cameo/easter egg. Nintendo? DCMA and shut it down. What right does Nintendo have in policing someone's fan created art back in June/July this year? It's art work, seriously.

...Nintendo shutting down art? Where's the evidence of that? I've been on numerous art websites and have seen thousands of Nintendo-related art and none appeared to be in danger of being removed due to Nintendo's doing. Heck, the devs from Pokemon, in which TPCi are known to be protective of the IP and brand, have even commented on fan art on Twitter so they must be okay with them (except for one featuring Serena and Ash in Alola clothes though some fans point out that could be a hint that Serena could remain as a member of Ash's group in the future if they blocked anyone showing them that photo)! If Nintendo were to do such thing, they could've done it YEARS ago! Ive even posted a photo of that featured Mario and Link in my drawing on my social media and I've not heard anything from Nintendo.
