Tablets still sell like 20x more annually than what the 3DS/Vita have been putting out. When I got an airport, I see literally *hundreds* of kids using mobile devices, and the ratio to 3DS/Vita is ugly. Uggggggggggggly. Like there's maybe one kid I see with a 3DS/Vita to like 20-25 playing on either a tablet or their mom/dad's smartphone. And I fly a lot for work, through Canada, US, all through Europe, and even Japan. This isn't even a contest anymore. I remember on one flight I was sitting across from two elementary school age girls who both had their own tablets, and I pulled out my 3DS to play and the girl shot me a look like "what ... the ... HELL is that thing?", lol. |
None of that actually anwsers my question though. Both ipad sales and Samsung galaxy tab sales have been in decline. Ipads recently had their worst quater since 2012. You can't just compare how much tablets sells compared to the 3ds and Vita and assume that is how much the NX will sell because thats not how it works. Both Samsung and Apple has marketing that is light years ahead of what Nintendo is capable of and yet, both are in decline.
Why do you think both Samsung and Apple are releasing bigger phones along side their smaller varients? (And Samsung of course has their Note line) Phones are eating up the tablet space as well due to the inconvience of carrying one...
