How is that a terrible analogy? Two cute 2D platformers made of texture with the exact same scores on metacritic, you can hardly get a better analogy.

It's a terrible analogy because the PS4 is a much more popular and well recieved system than the Vita, meanwhile the 3ds is more popular than the WiiU.

That doesn't make the analogy terrible. The question essentially boils down to "would there be some people who would regret their decision for purchasing a PS4 if a certain game was released on Vita as well?" The amount of popularity is irrelevant as long as there are some people who bought a PS4 to play Little Big Planet and would consider it a waste of their money since the game is now (or, since this is a hypothetical, would be now) avaliable for a console they owned in the first place. The amount of popularity in regards to each console is utterly irrelevant.

Though for what it's worth, Goodnightmoon, an "uglier version" of a year old game could make some people regret it if they bought the Wii U entirely for that game. Chances are, if you're buying a Wii U, you're not buying it for a game that got a 78 on Metacritic, but hey, it's more than possible. So, no, it's not a dumb way of thinking, either.

(As an aside, though, I'm pretty sure OP was joking, so this is a moot debate regardless)
