Even when that successor has B/C with the previous console and sells a horrifically low amout whilst the predecessor sold an insanely high amount. If Nintendo were ever going to support a System after the release of it's sucessor it would have been the Wii. 100 Million + Sold, Games would work on the new system, New system selling terribly. Still didn't support previous console. |
And in both cases of the 3DS and WiiU - the new platform struggled out the gate. 3DS of course hit the brink, but then did OK. WiiU couldn't recover. I think Nintendo realizes leaving legacy platforms totally behind can be risky in today's market.
I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016
