It's pretty normal for any one of the big 3 to continue support for a successful legacy platform 1-2 years after a new system. (PS2, and 360 come to mind). It's important to keep the laggards engaged in some way until they're really ready for a new platform. |
It's not normal for Nintendo, when have they ever done this before? I know they didn't with Wii or DS, and those are their two most successful systems ever.
