FF12 had a good system in place so you didn't miss cutscenes. As did Persona 4

Yeah, a lot of games have these days. I think the first one I noticed to have it was MGS4. On Playstation, Start to pause and then X seems like an excellent way to do it. Holding X would probably be OK too, since holding a button accidentally is much harder than pressing it quickly. But Start + X is better, I think, because it implies being able to pause cutscenes. Oh, pausing cutscenes should totally be a thing too!
