Yea, i am actually convinced that Nintendo wanted to troll us (on purpose) with that.
If they are just joking with the NX pre-annoucement hype or actually hintting at something (either a new Mario Galaxy or Metroid), i don~t know.
Other theory is that they wanted to be sure no one would think they were releasing a Android-based 3DS, so did this to be sure the gaming world wouldn't create false hype out of nothing.
