Oh yeah, catching the cord on furniture and stuff when you move. But that don't actually happen to me very often.

What about when you put the headphones down after you have taken them off? I wonder if that can damage them. I sometimes put them down a bit recklessly, drop them on my table from about 20 cm height.

But still t can't be that, because it's always the cables that break!

I'm willing to bet it was due to how you put them away/stored them after use. If the cord was ever bent near the cup - say if you tightly wrapped it around the headset for easy storage or transportation purposes - it would already be weak and subject to an easy break. I assume that is the main reason they package headsets with the wire trailing from the headset by at least 5 inches.

For me it was because my roommates would stuff them into a drawer filled with other cables, since I always left them out haha

lol I'm not that stupid that I would wrap the wire around the headset.

Your dozen or so headphones that have broken, what kind of price category were they? All cheap? The stock mini earphones that come with a mobile phone?
