I legit have a backpack full of headphones and gaming headsets that have failed me over the past two years (I'd guess about 12 pairs total, including earbud style pairs). In terms of headphones it was always because I would catch the cord on equipment when moving about, but I guess my gaming headsets have just sucked. I'm willing to bet it is because I constantly buy mid-range pairs.
Turtle Beach PLa failed me, PDP Afterglows failed me, now I'm onto some Turtle Beach Recons that plug straight into the controller ($50ish, so I bought mid-range again like the tard I am) and I am babying them. As for music I finally smartened up and bought some bluetooth Skullcandy so I don't trip on wires anymore. Just can't afford a wireless game headset that doesn't suck.
