Yep, I'm expecting Sony to still have 'generations' with one or two mid gen models in between while MS will just keep updating. It's exactly the same except the naming of the consoles, Sony will define their generation when they release the PS5 and 6 (with mid gen consoles in between) while MS will name their consoles like they're upgrades (Scorpio v1, Scorpio v2 etc). The thing is when Sony release the PS5, any Xbox console released within that time frame will be considered 9th gen along with the PS5.
