Pokemon Was Left Out of The 2016 Olympics Closing Ceremony Due to International Recognition

I'm guessing they had to make a tough choice between Mario or Pokemon since I doubt the committee would let Nintendo simultaneously use two mascots for the Tokyo Olympics 2020 instead of 1 like everyone else.
