I commute alot on trains, and I often see people sitting with tablets out, watching movies or tv shows on them on the go.

Occasionally they also game on them (though not as often, seems alot more common on smart phones).

Nintendo just has to make sure its easy for people to put their "movies & tv shows" onto it as well.

It's just a horrendous idea, you don't make a hybrid console and then make the handheld part of it barely portable. And the NX will never have all the functions, capabilities and hardware of a tablet to warrant choosing it over a tablet for space to carry.

The consumer version will be smaller than the prototype anyway, it will be 5.5" or smaller. Any larger and as a portable console the NX WILL fail.

A handheld console that large has NICHE appeal, it might appeal to hardcore gamers but it will not appeal to the mainstream.

I think it will.

The mistake would be to make a small portable 3DS like new portable.

Smart Phone market is just to big and powerfull, and gameing has become alot more common place on them in resent years.

They need to stand out with the NX.

A portable handheld the size of a smart phone, wont do that.

This hybrid needs to powerfull enough that handheld gameing on it stands a clear cut above what any smart phone can do.

Which is why it ll be a gameing tablet, they need the size increase to cram more into it (bigger screen too) so its differnt from smart phones..

They arnt just trying to appeal to the handheld users, but also to those people that want a home console.

It needs to be more powerfull than a tiny smart phone sized handheld can be.
