Wow, that's a shorter time than I recalled.

They really get it. I hope Nintendo does too.

How long time between announcement and relase was it with PS3, X360, Wii and Wii U?

X360:
Announced in May 2005.  Released first in Nov 2005.  Time of 6 months.

Wii:
Announced in June of 2005. Released in Nov 2006.  Time of 17 months.
Controller unveiled in Sep 2005.  Difference until launch - 14 months.

PS3:
Announced in May of 2005.  Released in Nov of 2006.  Time of 18 months.

But the product advertised for nine months sold more than the one advertised for 6. Also you would have to come to the conclusion that they wouldn't have sold better with more advertising.

Do you honestly think that 3 month difference is directly proportional to the doubling of sales?  And I've concluded nothing.  I was merely stating the time frames.  You are the one drawing conclusions.

Depends if you honestly think the success of two companies products based on the time they were revealed can directly be applied to a third company. Sounds like the same jumping to conclusions to me, I'm just jumping with you.

The facts are Nintendo isn't going to WOW people with flashy visuals. Most people will honestly have a problem seeing a difference between Wii U and what this has to offer, and most people have a problem buying a handheld for a premium price (*see 3ds and vita). We also know that Nintendo's advertising isn't going to have a budget of a small live action movie with popular celebs (*see COD advertisings and Destiny). It's going to take some convincing.

Fact: It is a shit ton easier to sell flash than it is to sell an idea.
