Its not meant to compete with PS/XB for "core" gamers or iOS/Android for "casual" gamers, its meant to be an in between device that can appeal to both sides and isnt meant to replace those other devices.

I think they will have to go after some portion of the tablet users. 

Obviously they're going to get their ass kicked by Apple, but Apple only sells like 25% of the tablets on the market or less. Nintendo I think wants to claim a stake on some of the rest and start making money off Android apps. 

ya they will try to appeal to tablet owners but its not like Nintendo is aiming to get people to stop playing games on tablets.
