Specific model being sold out, does not necessarily mean an actual shortage, color models can be phased in and out like that. DS had models constantly phased in and out, don't think I would go cry shortage everytime that happened. Given I don't think I am a fan of the word shortage used so easily, either software or hardware. 

Considering PS4 is available in only 2 colors... yes specific model (white) does mean an acutal shortage.
