when you look at this list as well as the 'million sellers' Nintendo list you begin to realize they have released a decent amount of software on their own, its just its been divided between handheld/home console. If the NX really does integrate things into one library that will help attract consumers humongously

maybe also they need to work a little harder in quality software releases, I felt they were missing a strong 3D Mario this gen, no F Zero, no Metroid, no Pokemon console game (not really at least), not enough new IP.

They actually have a decent amount of variety when you glance at this list though

Nintendo makes a lot more than most people realize, it's just that not all of them are particularly successful. I would dispute the quality releases claim, and also dispute the 3D Mario claim (3D Marios never sell as well as 2D, despite being better recieved every single time, so even if it was Galaxy 3, it probably wouldn't have sold significantly better; and 3D World was well recieved by everyone but the most vocal on the internet). And as for not enough new IP, Splatoon, Steel Diver, Code Name STEAM, NES Remix, Nintendo Land, and Pushmo (which is digital) say hi, and I would also argue Hyrule Warriors and Pokken Tournament with them being crossovers and radically different from their original series. Again more than most realize, but of those only Splatoon exploded, so its the only one people think of.
