Sony will have wanted to maintain the price for the PS4 until they had no other choice. Now that the Slim has been revealed they'll likely drop the price of the OG PS4 to maintain sales and clear the old stock. They won't have the same amount of stock as the XB1 and so won't have the same problems clearing old stock. The slim is clearly already shipping so I'm expecting it to launch on the 7th of Sep. Remember Sony called Apple's approach to launching new hardware 'elegant'.

i know. but even apple is not out right now.

that's why i believe the rumor of the 13/14th as release date
preorder will go up on 7th ofc

i could see september npd be  1 million + video game systems in the us now
~400k ps4 ~400k xb1 ~100k 3ds ~100k wiiu+360+ps3+vita

OFC +/- 50k for every single system. this is no real prediction.
just could be a decent non holiday months for a long time
