I've never in my life bought a game day one. South America was rough. Nowadays, I simply dont care that much. In fact, by being patient, I manged to get my most played game this generation for free (Pokemon X).
The only game that I wanted to buy early on (first few days/weeks) but in the end didnt for being salty and dissapointed was Splatoon. Once they announced the big update, around August, I pulled the trigger. Besides that, I generally get games as gifts, my parents decide to buy me one, or they're old games 
Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.
