I never buy games day 1 either, mainly for the reasons OP listed... don't want to pay full price and can usually get the game cheaper after a few weeks, and just to make sure the early hype and previews a game gets actually stack up for the final product.

I also never preorder games, mainly because of not wanting to pay full price, but also because in this day and age there is no need too.  Back in the N64 days for example I would preorder certain games like Ocarina of Time because there was no guarantee the stores in my area would have a copy the first week of release.  Nowadays between all the different stores + online retailers and digital downloads, there are a ton of ways to purchase games, so you never have to worry about securing a copy of a game if it's a big release or something you've been really anticipating.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
