Why would it hold at ~20k+ all year and then right before it's big releases are about to start it drops by 4k? 

 

And this just so happens to be after they've warned of shortages.  

 

Another possibility is,  by warning of shortages,  a sizable percentage have assumed new hardware is coming next month so are holding off to buy that.  

 

Either way I don't consider the 16k as a fair reflection of the ps4's 2016 weekly sales.
