Sony as a whole yes definately. $2 billion lost from developing PS3 could not be made up in other sectors.
I imagine they have had loss years before too.
MS maybe very early on when they were smaller, but recently no.... considering they make $4 billion each quarter normally not even the X-box can take all that away.
