Converting their classic games to mobile would be a chore or lead to crappy ports as we often see from other companies that do so.
A Virtual Console electronic store/economy could potentially work on PC but it would open Nintendo up to 1) releasing their games in easy to access and manipulate form, which they haven't been open to since the Famicom Disk Drive days, 2) competition with STEAM and other electronic markets. Thanks to their catalogue they could probably stand up well against such but it would be a massive commitment and as we have seen with their many iterations of DS/Wii/eShops despite messing around with digital purchases since 90s in Japan they may not be prepared for all that is required.
