I love my car and the mobility it offers, but it is crazy how much money most of my friends, colleagues and family members are wasting for cars over the years.
Bought my last car when it was 4 years old for 12.000 DM (€6.000) and drove it for 15 years, then sold it for €200. No major repairs all these years, so it come down to €400 annual value loss. My current car around the same and I intend to drive it at least 10 years until the next upgrade.
Many friends buy their cars new and have a value loss of over 10k already in the first year, they also switch cars more often.
