I don't understand where the dislike comes from. They promised an absolutely massive game (so massive you may never meet anyone) where you can explore planets, discover shit, and name it whatever you like. The combat and whatnot was always going to be limited, since your interaction with others would also be limited.

They did exactly what they said they were going to do and I don't recall them saying they would do anything else. The only thing I'd like them to do is maybe lay out a star map to where people on your friendlist are at.

You cant meet others. That was a lie (that's already a huge negative). The game also has horrid performance on PC, which is inexcusable.

Now, onto gameplay. I havent played it, probably wont, but it's easy to tell. You get onto a planet, blow up rocks, gather resources, discover creatures, rinse and repeat. There are probably some layers of depth with the weapon you use and the ship, maybe also with the resources, but it's irrelevant. The game is the same from the first hour onward.

I mean, there's not much wrong with that; the fun is in traversing through the seemless and "infinite" universe with endless possibilities in each "unique" planet, until you reach the center of the universe. The adventure is in the journey, not the destination. But this journey will get become boring a few hours in. So not many people will fine joy in it, except those that like travelling and discovering new species and planets, or sci-fi books/movies with... randomized content.

They might have delivered a few of their promises, but that doesnt make it a good game. We could also blame the gamers that thought they would somehow deliver a universe filled with great content in 18 quintillion planets, because that's just impossible, but they're just gamers.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.
