| ElRhodeo said: I know I've posted this before, but dismissing Nintendo consoles as "kiddie" is ridiculous. I am 28 years old, many of my friends are the same age and own a Wii. When I see a pointlessly violent video game, it puts me off. Makes me think of loud, dumb, annoying 15 year olds that get on my nerves when I ride the subway. This week I gave "Bully" a try; half an hour in, I got involved in my first fist fight. Near the end I was asked to perform some motion to "humiliate" my opponent - when I did it, the character spat into his hand and rubbed it into the other kid's face. I asked myself "what the FUCK am I playing here?", ejected the disk and put it on ebay. If that's what you mean with "mature gameplay", then yes, I hate it, I don't want it on my Wii. Feel free to call me a kid and yourself an adult. |
Bravo, well said! An awful lot of what gets called adult fare in this business is actually adolescent fare. The industry has produced very little in the way of true adult games outside of Wii Fit. Fortunately Nintendo produces a lot that's enjoyable by all ages because its challenging enough to keep us interested but also a game we can play with our children.
