Again, this entire subject popped up for BvS and now Suicide Squad. And I specifically remember $800 million being the mark for BvS and then it increased to $1 billion as it started inching closer. So I'm going to put my tinfoil hat on here and say that someone is just throwing these high, arbitrary numbers out there for DCEU films, because I didn't see one thing about Deadpool or Civil War amd their break even points.
Also, it looks like Suicide Squad is already over $330 million worldwide before its second weekend. So far, people are still going to see it.
