It needs a bit more of depth. Right now, it's basically grinding. They should add real time battles against people on the street. You are walking and suddenly you get challenged to a Pokémon battle! That would rock!
The battle mechanics should also be improved. It really sucks. Most of the time, the best strategy is to put your high level Pokémon and just tap the screen like a maniac until the ther guy is down.
