I thought tonight was item night.

Part of it was that you just happened to be closer a good portion of the time.  The other part of it was that Diddy Kong isn't very threatening to me as an opponent.  Characters like Ike who can surprise KO me with one hit are more dangerous.

Dunno about the items.  I had Final Smash orbs on all the time.
