Seems like things are going OK. The biggest problem so far from what I've heard is they had some very strong wind yesterday and a few events had to be rescheduled but this is normal.
If Brazil could handle a World Cup, they should do fine with the Olympics. No the Olympic village accommodations may not be like a 5 star hotel resort, but that isn't the point of the Olympic experience.
