Why was/is there a lot of talk of Pokémon Go declining in popularity, truth or haters?

Still seeing hundreds and hundreds of people playing at every large park/tourist attraction I go to.

The crazy thing is the demographics, there are as many women playing as men if not more and I see plenty of even older women (30s-50s) playing. It's crazy.
