Am I the only one that thinks about this whole third-party thing for a while and comes to the conclusion that it would have negative consequences for Nintendo?
Like, a LOT?

Yes, they could sell games to more platforms, but thats it.

On the other hand:
A big part of their fanbase would very likely roast them for it, losing their support, they would lose all income generated by consoles, royalties, and their own games being sold on their consoles in abnominable proportions. Mario Kart 8 is on every second Wii U out there! A 50% attach rate is not only insane but also very likely to not repeat itself across every other platfrom like people seem to believe.
Their old talents would probably not condone this step and leave.
Their would get much smaller cuts for each games they sell and have to pay royalties to other platform holders.
Their investors (and investors in gaming in general) would panic like all hell has broken loose! Its NINTENDO the oldest and biggest company that ushered in the modern world of gaming pretty much stepping down! We would probably have Brexit-like conditions!

Yes many of these things are assumptions, some can be averted if done right, but the point still stands:

"Just going third-party" is neither going to solve all problems for Nintendo nor is it guaranteed to have any positive effect at all!
It could also end very, VERY BADLY!

The new guy.
