yeah do it, awesome price!

I need to play a yakuza game, is there a chronology?

Just found it on Base.com for £13 with free delivery! Should be with me in a few days :)

You can play Yakuza games without having played the older ones, but you will get more out of it by at least watching a playthough of it. The main reason is the character list grows and the city remains the same. They may add a location or two with each sequel, but you end up in the same places more often than not.

Since you like Sopranos, let me put it this way, this is a bit like a mafia drama but a video game. The characters grow, the story arc may change, but parts of it follow through from the previous game. Character's relationships continue, and the characters age and change with age. You will get more out of it by at least watching the cutscenes or going over key story points if you cannot find the earlier games.

It isn;t as big as GTA, but the smaller maps are more meaningful. The players you come across feel like they have a real life and play a bigger role than most other games including Skyrim or the Witcher.

Sounds awesome, yeah I know what you're saying there are references about older games. I will start with Yakuza 0, it's coming in january I think!
