Given how many Vita games couldn't be comfortably played on mobile phones, how many were attempts to recreate previously successful psp/3DS games and the clear preference for mobile gaming in Japan, there is definitely a likely outcome. If Nintendo manage to keep Yokai Watch, Monster Hunter etc on their platform (again likely- these are Handheld favoured IPs) alongside their usual output (Pokemon, Animal crossing, Mario, splatoon etc) they're presenting a very obvious platform for Vita developers to move to. Obviously not all but many.
Y'all really want the NX to flop :(
