Is it considered embarrassing to live with your parents after a certain age in your culture?

Culturally (USA), a bit, but that was before the economy shit the bed. Now it's much more understandable for a person of any age to move back home for a while to get things in order. Being independent is obviously preferable, though. At 27 with a tight budget I've toyed with the idea, but would still rather try to tough it out.
