Why is the Smash fan-base obsessed with Yaoi ships?

Part of the fanbase assumes so, just because he doesn't have a canon love interest like most of the Fire Emblem MCs. Personally, I just assume he's indifferent towards sex in general. None of his interactions with Soren or Ranulf were openly romantic, and so I have no reason to assume they were any different off-screen. Same goes for Ike/Mia, even though I ship the hell out of that one.

I suppose Prium being confirmed to be Ike's descendent and not Mist's confirms that he had a biological child at that some point. Though I guess that's not necessarily confirmation of anything.

OT: I think the fanbase likes to look for things that aren't there, kind of like the Ike example above. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing to take seriously either. Crack-shipping is a fun hobby for a lot of people.
