In short term finance terms I think the way they launched the game was probably the best they could have done, however in terms of PR and what it done to the rebooted Tomb Raider Franchise... it mostly killed that I think. Sold just 1.24m on the X1 as well and 400k on the X360, I mean even the definitive version of Tomb Raider 2013 on the PS4 sold 1.4m units considering that on the X1 is at .6m they could have been looking at selling 3m+ copies of Rise of the Tomb Raider on the PS4 if it launched at the same time and avoided the PR backlash of taking the bag o cash.
I guess only time will tell and we have to wait to see if there is another Tomb Raider Title in the reboot series to come (think there was some rumours recently)
